James G. Stein joined Lincoln Property Company in 2002 as a Senior Vice President in the firm’s New York office. Mr. Stein is responsible for all activities in the New York Region including property acquisition, leasing, property management & asset management. As a real estate professional since 1989, his career has encompassed a variety of disciplines including purchase & sales, tenant & landlord brokerage, real estate finance & commercial loan workouts.
Mr. Stein’s present investment focus at Lincoln Property Co. is on value-add, opportunistic & development deals with joint venture partners. His most recent concentration has led to several successful New York City property repositions including: 95 Morton St. in Hudson Square; 625 Broadway & 700 Broadway in SoHo; 250 West 39th St. in the Garment District; & most recently the creative office redevelopment of a former warehouse now known as “The Jefferson” located at 455 Jefferson St. in Bushwick Brooklyn. In 2018, Mr. Stein successfully completed the $257m acquisition of 540 West 26th St. in Manhattan & the $120m acquisition of 95 Evergreen Ave. in Brooklyn, on behalf of a 1031 investor.

Cumulative development volume exceeds $15 billion & encompasses 120 million square feet. Lincoln currently manages in excess of 250 million square feet of commercial & residential property with a combined value of more than $60 billion.
Mr. Stein is a multigenerational New Yorker with roots in Manhattan & the Bronx. He is a licensed corporate real estate broker in the state of New York; an active member of several professional & charitable associations; & a frequent guest speaker on New York City real estate. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kentucky’s School of Journalism in 1987.
